PRIMIGENIA means “original and first-born” and in fact Mexican vanilla is the oldest vanilla which originally grew in the forest edges of tropical Mexico, cultivated as early as 1,000 B.C. by the Totonaks and Aztecs. Mexico is the authentic and original home of vanilla cultivation and orchids. This variety of the natural “vainilla mexicana PRIMIGENIA” with its unmistakable special aroma is a rareness that cannot be compared to any other species of vanilla.

QUALITY OF THE EXTRACTS

Our extracts are strong and durable in terms of aroma and particularly high-yielding. They have a distinct high natural vanillin content and are classified as “clean-label extracts”. We do not use any sugar or preservatives during production.

AROMA PROFILE

Besides its intense characteristic aroma, our natural PRIMIGENIA Mexican Vanilla offers a wide spectrum of additional & individual nuances: such as caramel, woody and roasted notes, in combination with spicy aromas.

PRIMIGENIA MEXICAN VANILLA:

THE PROCESS

From harvest to extraction, the full process is precisely defined. Each stage is carefully supervised and controlled on site. By boiling the pods, we achieve gentle sterilisation. During sweating, the vanilla pods are heated in the sun and then wrapped to initialise the natural formation of vanillin. In every batch, the natural vanillin content is checked by an independent laboratory. The pods are then sun-dried for about 90 days until they reach the desired degree of dryness. With this gentle “PRIMIGENIA method” it is possible to produce concentrations of up to 10 times.

SUSTAINABILITY

Investments in on-site planting material and infrastructure are made on an ongoing basis. In the areas of cultivation and processing, technical knowledge is constantly kept up to date. At the local level, environmental management ensures a resource-saving income from agriculture.
